Representation theory in convex and integral geometry

Abstract:

We will discuss several new results in convex geometry (valuations on convex sets) and integral geometry, connections between them and the representation theory and algebraic geometry (theory of D-modules). Recently it turned out that behind some classical problems from convex and integral geometry stay purely algebraic reasons. Even the formulation of main results requires representation theoretical language. The exposition will be as elementary as possible.
