Abstract:

Recently, I set out to improve my understanding of express lines in the supermarket. Precisely 150 years ago, and apparently with other goals in mind, Riemann established the analytic continuation and the functional equation for his Zeta function by considering it as the Mellin transform of a modular form.

We will try to explain how these projects relate to each other. The talk will be self contained.
